Pastor's Message
From the Heart
From the Heart
Grace and Peace in our Lord Jesus Christ!
God continues to do new things in our midst here at St Paul
UMC!
How incredible Easter, Faith Promise Missionary Conference,
and Ekklesia have been, and all within a span of five weeks!!! God has
truly been at work blessing the life of the church here at St Paul UMC, OS!
The Easter crowd and worship at both East Campus (632) and Downtown (501)
were incredible.
As of April 22 we have pledged just over $108,297 through
Faith Promise to missions throughout our local community and the world. This
once again exceeds our goal and calls out our willingness to step out in
faith.
Ekklesia (a called gathering) sponsored by the Seashore
District drew around 1400 to 1500 people from throughout the Southeast and
was one of the largest crowds that the Cross the Line Tour has drawn this
year. Thanks to the many St Paul UMC volunteers who helped make this a
success!
New things continue to be happening in our midst as we
continue to look toward the summer.
On May 11, Christian recording artist Paul Saik will be
joining us during two of our worship services and sharing a concert at 4
p.m., at the Downtown Campus. Also in May, we will begin to have fuller
access to Camp St Paul (the UMCOR building), and our youth will have an
opportunity to have a space to call their own in this building.
In June we will begin the transition to a Workshop Rotation
Sunday School for our children and “extreme makeover” will be taking place
in portions of the building to help with putting this in place. Please help
us by “pardoning the progress,” “excusing our mess,” and being flexible and
patient during this exciting time ahead.
In the midst of it all God is doing a new thing in our hearts
and lives as we seek to be a church that reaches out in the name of Christ
to transform lives.
I look with anticipation to what God will continue to do in
and through us here at St Paul UMC, OS. and our ministry throughout the
world.
Your
servant in Christ,
Chris
