What is CROSS?

CROSS began in 2004 when the singles at St. Paul United Methodist church recognized the need for community among singles.  This was especially evident as people were graduating from Divorce Recovery and requesting continued support.  CHRISTIANS REACHING OUT SUPPORTING SINGLES (CROSS) was born out of response to this need.

Katrina changed a good many things and CROSS activities stopped completely for a year.  Reverend Will Wilkerson at St. Paul reorganized CROSS with Leigh Brown as coordinator.  CROSS has now grown to a membership of 72.

CROSS is sponsored by St. Paul United Methodist Church and is open to Christians of all denomInations.  Several members of other local churches are active members of our counsel.  CROSS is often invited to attend activitIes for singleS at other coastal churches.

CROSS is not a dating club or dating service but was created to provide opportunitIes for fellowship and genuine Christian friendships that provide emotional support and encourages faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. CROSS is open to individuals who are not in a committed marriage. CROSS provides Christian fellowship and support to those going through the trauma of divorce.
