Stepping UP: a journey through the psalms of ascent

Author: Beth Moore, East Campus Fellowship Hall

Three times a year, the ancient Israelites traveled to the temple in Jerusalem.  Now it is your turn.  This new Beth Moore study explores Psalms 120-134.  Traveling pilgrims sang these psalms both on the way to the great festivals of the Jews and as key elements of the worship at those festivals.  You will gain a new appreciation for the life and faith as a journey to greater fellowship with and worship of God.  Expect nothing less than a new level of relationship and intimacy with God through these psalms.  The more you unveil your face to God and bare your soul to Him the safer you feel with Him and the closer you draw to Him.  ( 7 sessions)  Cost for workbook - $15.

Beth Moore's newest study is Stepping Up: A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent. Through an in-depth look at 15 Psalms, participants in this study can pray, reflect, and write a personal rendition of these ancient choruses.

Themes such as unity, joy and gratitude, redemption, repentance, the power of blessings, facing ridicule, and more are explored in detail. Modern-day believers can learn much from these treasured Psalms in their journey toward greater intimacy with God.

DISCIPLE I: BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY

Facilitators: Cliff Burris, Chris & Sheila Cumbest, Rooms 203, 206, 209

DISCIPLE is a program of disciplined Bible study aimed at developing strong Christian leaders. The study gives the Old and New Testaments equal time, emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as a revelation of God. DISCIPLE draws upon the work of scholars, the personal Bible reading and study of the participant, and dynamic group discussion to aid understanding of the Bible.  DISCIPLE: BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY is a 34 week overview of the entire Bible.

Thursdays at 7:00 pm, Starts Aug. 23

DISCIPLE III: REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE   Facilitators: Terry Fordemwalt, Chic Anderson

Room 116

Several themes weave their way through this 32 week study – the call to remember; the call to repentance; the need for renewed vision; and the place of community as you read the major and minor Old Testament prophets, excluding Daniel, and the 13 Letters traditionally attributed to Paul.

 To be scheduled

“Total Forgiveness”

Monday Morning Bible Study

Teacher: Chic Anderson

Watch for start date.

Prior to writing “Total Forgiveness,” Dr. R. T. Kendall suffered an emotional hurt so deep that he will not talk about it except to say that it became the basis for the book. Later in life, he learned the secret of total forgiveness and as a result became a new creature, in tune with God’s Spirit and a powerful instrument for the Lord. Seven chapters take us on a journey that can transform our lives if we let God teach us how to forgive.
